Check it yourself in five minutes
- Use a private window and no account history. Assistants personalize answers, so a clean session shows what a stranger sees.
- Ask it like a customer would. "Who's the best [what you do] in [your town]?" and "I need [your service] near [your town]. Who should I call?"
- Ask about yourself by name. "What do you know about [your business] in [your town]?" Wrong hours, old services or no answer at all are all useful findings.
- Check which links it cites. Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews show their sources. Those are the sites you want to be on.
- Repeat in a second assistant. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google often give different answers to the same question.
